All QR code decoding is processed locally within your browser, on your device.


2. Browser Permissions

QRead.cc requests only the minimum permissions required to function properly:

• Temporary access to the selected screen area (no recording or permanent storage);

• Local storage to maintain technical preferences (for example, scan limits or active mode).

These permissions are never used for tracking, profiling, or advertising purposes.


3. Anonymous Usage Metrics

To improve reliability and better understand how the extension performs, QRead.cc collects anonymous usage metrics.
These metrics are technical in nature and do not contain personal information or QR code data.
Examples of collected events include:

• The start and completion of a scan;

• Technical errors or failure reports;

• Feature activation or deactivation.

All data is processed in aggregate and anonymized form, with the sole purpose of improving stability and user experience.


4. Local Storage

QRead.cc uses Chrome’s local storage (chrome.storage.local) only to keep limited technical information such as:

• User preferences (active/inactive mode);

• Daily scan count.

This data remains entirely on your device and can be deleted at any time by removing or resetting the extension.


5. Data Sharing

QRead.cc does not share personal information with any third party.
Anonymous technical metrics may be processed through privacy-compliant analytics services, but no QR code content, URLs, or
identifiable information is ever transmitted.


6. Security

Since all QR code processing happens locally, no QR code data or images leave your device.
This greatly minimizes any risk of data exposure.
Nonetheless, users should always exercise caution when visiting links from unknown QR codes.


7. Policy Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect technical improvements or changes in data handling practices.
